Immigration consultant, attorney or recognized organization: who may advise you

Immigration legal advice may be given by an attorney in good standing or by a representative accredited to an organization the Department of Justice recognizes, and by nobody else for a fee.

A person advertising as an immigration consultant, an adviser or a form preparer may be one of those or may be neither, which is the whole risk. This site republishes the recognition roster whole so the check takes a minute: 1,449 offices in 723 cities, each with the address and telephone number the roster carries and the dates recognition was granted and expires. It is not a law firm, it advises nobody, and no organization can pay to be here or to move.

Methodology: Counts are of roster entries exactly as the Executive Office for Immigration Review published them: recordCount for a state is the number of recognised OFFICES the roster places in that state, and cityCount is how many of its cities carry at least one. An organisation with offices in three states counts once in each, because the roster's row is an office. Nothing here is computed by us, nothing is estimated, and no organisation is ranked, scored or recommended.
