About this register
Immigration Adviser Finder republishes one public record: the Executive Office for Immigration Review's roster of organisations the Department of Justice recognises to give immigration legal advice. 1,449 offices, in 723 cities, across 49 states and the District of Columbia, each with the address and telephone number the roster carries and the dates recognition was granted and expires. The roster is read from the authority's own file by a published script, so any page can be traced to the line it came from.
Why this site exists
Because the roster that answers the most important question in this subject, who may lawfully advise you, is published as a 235-page PDF ordered by state and city, and almost nobody reads a 235-page PDF at the moment they need it. Reproducing it as pages, by state and by city, with the dates intact, is a small piece of work that nobody had done in a form a worried person can use.
Who it is for
Somebody in the United States who needs immigration legal help and wants to know who is actually allowed to give it, and the family member or caseworker helping them look. It is not written for immigration lawyers marketing themselves, and it is not written for people researching immigration policy.
What it does not do
- No advice. This site does not say what the law requires of your case, which form you need or whether you are eligible for anything, and nobody here is an attorney or an accredited representative.
- No ranking and no paid position. Entries appear in the roster's own order and nobody can buy a place, a badge or a move.
- No invented facts. Every field on an entry is the roster's own; where the roster is silent the page is silent, and nothing is estimated or filled in.
- No enforcement. An enquiry is never passed to an immigration enforcement agency, and this site holds nothing about a reader beyond what they typed into a message.
What is on this site
2 guides, each with its sources on the page , and the directory.
- Immigration consultant: Immigration consultant is not a legal status in the United States, and that is the thing worth knowing before anybody is paid.
- Immigration lawyer cost: Immigration lawyer cost is two questions wearing one phrase: what a private attorney charges for the form you need, and whether you have to pay a private attorney at all.
Where the figures come from
EOIR Recognition & Accreditation: organisations recognised by the Department of Justice to provide immigration legal services, and their offices, by state, retrieved 2026-09-11
Who answers for it
Joseph Ellul, Operator, Ellul MT. Responsible for what this site publishes and for correcting it. A correction that names the office and what the roster says is acted on.
